The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin a resurfacing project on U.S. 36 in Rawlins County the week of Aug. 24.
Crews will complete a mill and overlay on approximately 10 miles of U.S. 36 starting near County Road 407 (Beardsley corner) and ending at the K-25 junction in Atwood.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane where crews are actively working and directed by flaggers and a pilot car during daylight hours. Travelers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes. KDOT reminds motorists to stay alert, follow posted signs and refrain from using hand-held mobile devices in all active work zones.
Work is expected to be completed in late September, conditions permitting.
APAC Kansas Inc., of Hutchinson, is the primary contractor for the $2.7 million project. For more information, contact KDOT Area Construction Manager Todd Anderson at 785-953-6011 orĀ todd.anderson@ks.gov.
