OBERLIN – The Oberlin Boys and Girls basketball team each took home one nomination from the Northwest Kansas League All-League teams announced earlier today.
On the girl’s side, Brylee Minnick received a second-team selection after her breakout sophomore-year performance.
Minnick led the Lady Red Devils in four different categories this season, including scoring with her 10.5-point average, rebounding with 7.8 rebounds per game, blocking with 1.1 per game, and dishing out 2.6 assists per game.
Brylee, who made a huge jump from her freshman to sophomore season, recorded 13 games this season with 10 or more points, helping Oberlin reach the Sub-State Semifinals for the sixth straight year.
On the boys’ side, Tyler Ostmeyer received second-team recognition after a stellar sophomore season. Ostmeyer led the team in points per game with 14.7, rebounds with 9.8, and blocks with 2.4.
Tyler scored ten or more points in 16 games this season, including 6 in which he scored 20 or more, helping the Red Devils advance to the Sub-State Semifinals for the first time since the 2014-2015 season.
