Michelle Seidler, the former director of Kids Academy, a day care in North Platte, was accused of stealing more than $30,000 from the daycare. She has since been sentenced to five years of probation and 90 days in jail. Up until the court date, she had already credited 47 days in jail. Throughout her probation, the judge ordered Seidler to pay $250 a month for restitution payments. In March, she never contested to a felony theft charge.
The police had received their first reports of theft in April of 2018. She accumulated $30,000 for her own personal use from the daycare by overbilling the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services more than $10,000 for day care fees.
